Gene expression modification toward climate change adaptation (EPI-CATCH COST Action)

23 September 2020 Christophe Orazio 0 Comments 0 tags

Epigenetics is the science that analyzes the modification of gene expression as a function of the environment. Since trees cannot move, it is obvious that gene response to climate change is a major factor in forest trees. EPI- CATCH COST Action aims to define, develop, generate and share new breaking knowledge and methodology for the investigation of epigenetic mechanisms modulating plant adaptation to environmental stresses driven by climate change.

This COST Action will create a pan-European framework for networking in this under- investigated research field bringing together industrial developers, molecular geneticists, molecular biologists, crop breeders, agronomists, plant pathologists, bioinformaticians. The Action will improve lab methodology and promote the future development of tools for the crop-breeding sector and the training of researchers, in particular young researchers in this field.

The network is open to anyone interested in the subject. For more information, see: https://www.vegepolys-valley.eu/formulaires/projet-epicatch/
